Westminster offers several opportunities for adults to grow and be encouraged.
This fall, we have two Sunday School options available for our adults:
- "From Awe to Generosity" (taught by Corley Moses, Kent Savage, and John Downs): This study explores the many ways our hearts and minds are captivated, and how the object of our heart directs our efforts and resources. We are studying the fact that the glory and grace of God can lead us to generosity and a new found contentment in Him. This class meets in the Fellowship Hall.
- "Sunday Discussions" (taught by Gary Dyksterhouse and Alex Fletcher): Join discussion us as we examine some of the most pressing faith concerns of our time. We will begin with a four week discussion exploring how to practically apply the Westminster Mission Statement and advance into topical discussions directly selected by the members of our class. Above all we will seek to filter the opinions and experiences of our participants through a proper biblical lens and hope to leave our time each week with a better understanding of how to live out our Christian faith in our home, in our work, and in our community. This class meets in the Library.
We meet as a church family at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays for a meal followed by a discussion of the previous Sunday's sermon. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and receive more depth of knowledge on the sermon's topic. This discussion time is led by our Senior Pastor, Rev. Richard Owens.
Our men meet in weekly small groups for Bible Study, prayer and accountability. If you are interested in getting plugged into one of these groups, please contact Ian Kayser. Our "Man Cave" group meets on Tuesday evenings at 8:00pm in the Fireside Room. We are currently on break for the summer and will resume meeting in the fall.
Our most recent women's study was of Nancy Guthrie's The Promised One: Seeing Jesus in Genesis. We are in the process of forming groups to go through Anna Nash's six week pathFinder book. If you are interested in joining one of these groups, please contact Amy Coleman. Click here to learn more about our different WIC Committees.
